Forecast Discussion:
Yesterday ozone reached the Moderate AQI category with a late evening increase. Today will have similar conditions and daily values are expected to reach the Moderate AQI range at a few sites. There will then be a decrease in ozone levels through the weekend and into early next week because of an incoming low pressure system, along with rain potential next week.
PM10 was in the Moderate AQI range yesterday as well, and today's PM10 is forecast to reach the Moderate AQI range again. Heading into the weekend, there will be less winds and showers and thunderstorms are expected to mostly be out of the area, and therefore a drop to the Good AQI range for PM10 will come. Into early next week there will be more rain chances and along with that strong and erratic winds, increasing the potential for PM10 to return to the Moderate AQI range. PM2.5 levels will have similar trends through early next week.
